Just a quick update on where we’re at with things…The federal court granted final approval to the $5.5-billion-dollar anti-trust settlement against Visa and Mastercard and you ARE a member of the affected class, and as a current account holder, we sent out a mailer to the business roughly ninety days ago regarding your entitlement.

So, now that the proceedings are coming to an end, one of the trusted advisors over in Settlement Services needs to meet with you over there at your location to perform the required site survey and determine how to best structure the entitlements to maximize what your business will receive from the settlement.

Of course, the entitlements include a monetary disbursement that we estimate to be between three and eight thousand dollars.  It just depends on your average monthly sales from credit and debit cards.

While claims forms are not yet available, your Regional VP will assist you with Pre-registering during the meeting and later submitting the claims form on your behalf when it becomes available. Of course, there is No-cost to you for providing this service and Class Members need not sign up for any third-party service that charges a fee in order to participate in any monetary relief. Additional No-cost assistance will also be available from the Class Administrator and Class Counsel during the claims-filing period. Now, with your help, let’s put together an estimate of what the business will receive from the settlement. So, the claims period ran from 2004 to 2019. Tell me, were you processing cards back in 2004?   IF NO:  What year did you start processing cards?

OK, and what’s a good monthly sales average from card payments in 2019?  A best-guess will work. Would you say a good average is around 30 thousand a month, more like 50 thousand, over a hundred  What’s a good ballpark?

WHAT IS THIS REGARDING

The business is a member of the affected class in the Federal Trade Commission’s Anti-Trust-Suit against Visa and MasterCard.

Now we must determine how to best structure your entitlements now that the court granted final approval. We are estimating the monetary disbursement from the $5.5-billion-dollar settlement to be between three and eight thousand dollars.

BANKS DON’T PROCESS

I know how you feel [Name], and other merchants have expressed that same concerns.  You see, the banks and the third-party sales groups simply act as middlemen; selling you our First Data, T-SYS, and Global backend processing services. So at the end of the day, no matter which bank or third party you use, you still look to our backends to process your transactions.

So, in other words, we do what you don’t see, the authorization, capture, and settlement of the card payments on the existing account.
